A sealing device for sealing the end of a plurality of through holes 70a of a honeycomb structure 70 with a sealing material 130 over a prescribed sealing length includes a body part 10 having a recessed part 10d and a communication passage 10e opened to the inner surface of the recessed part 10d, and an elastic plate 20 arranged on the body part 10 so as to cover the recessed part 10d, wherein the elastic plate 20 has a plane part 20a movable toward the end face of the honeycomb structure 70, while keeping the plane.
