CONSTITUTION: A sealing device for a rotary kiln consists of a set of annular members 80, annular inner circumferential face sealing members 84 which come in sliding-contact with the outer circumferential face 1c of a kiln body 1, and annular end face sealing members 83 which come in sliding-contact with the end face of an inlet hood or an outlet hood 3. With the inner circumferential face sealing members 84 in sliding-contact with the outer circumferential face 1c of the kiln body 1 along the length of the kiln body 1, the annular members 80 are energyzed in the outward direction parallel to the length of the kiln body 1 by two or more springs 85 which are arranged at intervals in the circumferential direction of the kiln boy 1 so that theend face sealing members 83 come in sliding-contact with the end face of the inlet hood or the outlet hood 3.
