To prevent a degradation in sealing capability of the sealing face of a sealing ring due to the elastic deformation of a close contact face of an elastic body caused by the pressure of a fluid to be sealed and to prevent the sealing capability and the abrasion of the close contact face of the elastic body.
The sealing device is provided with a second sealing ring 5 having a second sealing face 5A, which is held in a sealed state by packing 13 provided to a part of either of a holding part 61A and an annular part 51 and inserted to a shaft 60, a first sealing ring 4, which has a first sealing face 4A arranged opposite to the second sealing face 5A, a first support part 4B formed to the side opposite to the first sealing face 4A, and a first outer peripheral close contact face 4C formed to the outer periphery between the first support part 4B and the first sealing face 4A and is inserted to the shaft 60, a first elastic body 2A made of a rubber-like elastic material, in which a first inner peripheral seal part 2C on one end is fitted to the first support part 4B of the first sealing ring 4 and a first outer peripheral seal part 2B on the other end is fitted to the other part of either of the holding part 61A and the annular part 51, and which presses the first sealing ring 4, and a first seal lip 6A, which is integrally protruded from the first elastic body 2A and fitted to the first outer peripheral close contact face 4C of the first sealing ring 4.
