Abstract:
Imprinting apparatus, particularly for tickets and labels, including inking means and means for advancing items to be printed comprising two reciprocating feed fingers 32f 32r arranged to engage respectively in apertures between adjacent items and a non-return back-up roller 36 to prevent the items moving back on the return stroke of the feed fingers. The inking means comprises a roller 41, which reciprocates across the print characters bands 22-a, 22-x applying an initial coating of ink on the forward stroke and smoothing the ink on the return stroke, and an ink pad 42 whose pressure on the roller is adjustable. For cleaning, the ink pad can be replaced by a solvent pad and the platen by a cleaning pad.
