Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent air from being caught in molten metal passing through a slide valve.
CONSTITUTION: A groove 21 is provided for a sliding surface between a movable board 4 and a stationary board 2, and a heat resistant packing 10 is disposed in the groove 21. The elasticity of the heat resistant packing 10 can surely prevent gas from being caught in molten metal passing through a slide valve even when there exists strain or wear over the movable board 4 and the stationary board 2. This configuration thereby eliminates defects such as pin holes and the like, so that product quality can be enhanced.
