To provide a sealing type conical roller bearing for a roll neck, which can prevent the entry of water or the like, into the interior of a bearing by eliminating a pressure difference between the exterior of the bearing and the interior of the bearing.
The sealing type conical roller bearing 10 for the roll neck includes an intermediate seal 30 which is arranged between adjacent inner rings 13, 14. The intermediate seal 30 includes an elastic seal member 31, a retaining member 32, and a sintered metal member 37. A plurality of through-holes 36 penetrating the elastic seal member 31 in the radial direction are formed in the elastic seal member 31 with nearly regular spacings in the circumference direction, and the elastic seal member 31 is brought into intimate contact with the inner peripheral surface and the outer peripheral surface on one side of the adjacent inner rings 13, 14 by being extended across them. The retaining member 32 energizes the elastic seal member 31 toward the inner rings 13, 14, and retains the elastic seal member 31. The sintered metal member 37 is arranged so that it faces the through-hole 36, and water-repellent processing is performed thereto for preventing the passage of a liquid and a solid but allowing the passage of gas.
