Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure seam part position by casting light with a specific wave length from a luminous body on the pipe surface of a rotating seam welded pipe, receiving the reflected light through a specific filter and properly judging the difference of reflection between a seam part and the other part.
SOLUTION: On pipe surface of a rotating seam welded stainless steel pipe 1, light having output characteristic of wave length of at least 300nm to 800nm is casted from a luminous body 2 after being condensed with a lens 3. The casted light is reflected at the pipe surface of the seam welded stainless steel pipe 1 and the reflected light is received with a light receiver 5 via a low-pass filter 4 transmitting only light with wave length of 800nm or less. Small voltage or small current generated according to the intensity of light received with the light receiver 5 is amplified with an amplifier 6, and the detection signal and a signal corresponding to a reflectance threshold value set in advance for judging the seam part are compared in a signal processing circuit 7, which makes accurate seam position detection possible.
