Title:
SEAMLESS MARTENSITIC STAINLESS STEEL PIPE EXCELLENT IN HOT WORKABILITY AND SULFIDE STRESS CRACKING RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11140594
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a seamless martensitic stainless steel pipe which can be produced, without causing roll marks by directly subjecting a cast billet of small cross section to hot rolling on the Mannesman system while obviating the necessity of a blooming stage and has sulfide stress cracking resistance higher than that of a conventional seamless steel pipe of Modified 13Cr steel.

This seamless steel pipe can be produced by directly subjecting a cast billet, having a composition consisting of, by weight, ≤0.05% C, ≤0.5% Si, ≤1.5% Mn, ≤0.03% P, ≤0.001% S, 10-14% Cr, 4.0-7.0% Ni, >0.06-0.3% Al, ≤0.08% N, 1.0-3.0% Mo, 1.0-2.0% Cu, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, to hot rolling on the Mannesman system.
