Abstract:
To manufacture a seamless steel pipe having high accuracy thickness dimension by suppressing occurrence of thickness deviation in a pipe circumferential direction on an original pipe in billet drilling and rolling.SOLUTION: Prior to billet drilling and rolling, a convex punch is pushed into a midship part on an apical surface of a hot billet to thereby form a hollow x, and in the billet drilling and rolling, drilling and rolling is started in the state where the tip of a piercing plug is positioned in the hollow x. Hereby, since the center of the piercing plug agrees with the center of the billet, thickness deviation in a pipe circumferential direction on an original pipe is suppressed, to thereby manufacture a seamless steel pipe having high accuracy thickness dimension.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
