To provide an automobile seat allowing a seating person to operate a folding mechanism with an operation lever while confirming the extent of the pushing pressure of a back upper part toward the back with the person's upper body leaning against the seat back, simultaneously operate the both mechanisms including a reclining mechanism and easily adjust the position of the whole seat back including the back upper part into an optimal attitude.

A reclining mechanism 4 for adjusting the angle of the seat back 2 or reclining it 2 into the front/rear and the folding mechanism 7 for frontward drawing up the back upper part 2a of the seat back 2 from the back lower part 2b are operated by separate operation levers 6 and 9 respectively. The operation levers 6 and 9 of the reclining mechanism 4 and the folding mechanism 7 are separately disposed in the right/left sides of the seat cushion within such a range of the seat cushion 3 as allowing the seating person in a seating posture to individually or simultaneously operate them regardless of the angle of the seat back 2.
