Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2016128317
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved switch or sensor for a seat belt buckle that is durable with reduced installation complexity and lower costs.SOLUTION: A thick film polymer membrane switch can be positioned within a seat belt buckle 100. The switch 108 can detect if the seat belt buckle 100 is fastened or unfastened. An apparatus includes a housing 102 having a cavity, an insertion member 104 moveable within the cavity, a connector 106 positioned within the cavity, and the switch 108 positioned within the cavity. Movement of the insertion member 104 causes the connector 106 to connect with or disconnect from the switch 108. The switch 108 includes a first conductive element formed adjacent to a first layer of an elastic film, and a second conductive element formed adjacent to a second layer of the elastic film.
