To provide a comfortable and light seat member for aircraft which does not need a cushion or a supporting board, and a method for assembling it.
This seat member comprises a durable frame 1, which is formed with a pair of side vertical parts 2, 3 which are approximately parallel and have a horizontal part 4 securely integral with a side ends 2a, 3a and a mobile bar 5 at the other side ends 2b, 3b, and a cylindrical cloth 6 which covers the frame and forms a supporting part of the seat member, and the cylindrical cloth is elastic and has different hardness in each fiber direction. To assemble it, the cylindrical cloth is fit from the other side opposite to the horizontal part, in which the bar of the vertical parts of the frame is detached and the width of a side is made shorter than the other then, the bar is attached, the vertical parts are released and the cylindrical cloth is spread horizontally, and a fixing method 8 fixes the cloth to the bar.
