PURPOSE: To automatically insert and assemble a seat ring by giving torsion of about 90° only to one portion on the circumference of a seat ring to be deformed, and externally fitted a valve main body on the seat ring to be concentrically positioned in assembling a butterfly valve.
CONSTITUTION: When a seat ring R is set on a ring deforming mechanism 1, a valve main body V is set on a main body positioning mechanism 2, and a fixed plate 7 is returned to the horizontal state by a cylinder, a lower bearing pin 8 is fitted in a lower shaft hole of the seat ring R to firmly hold the ring. Secondly, the forward end portion 23a of an upper clamp 23 is forced to closely adhere to a groove between flanges of the seat ring R by elongation of a cylinder 28, and then a rotating unit 4 is turned about 90° round the supporting point 0 to deform the seat ring. In such a condition, a cylinder 56 is elongated and driven to push in the seat ring R by a seat ring presser 52, and a main body holder 37 is returned from the initial forward tilting posture to the erect posture. Whereupon, the mounted valve main body V is smoothly externally fitted to the seat ring R. Thus, the seat ring can be automatically inserted in the valve mainbody and assembled.
