To improve the installability while reducing the number of components of a seat slide device.
The seat slide device 10 comprises upper rails 20 of hat-shaped cross section provided at a lower part of a seat cushion and fixed to the seat cushion side and relatively slidable lower rails 30 of approximately U-shaped cross section fixed to a car body floor side and facing to the upper rails 20. Lock plates 40 are mounted in the upper rails 20 and the operation of the lock plates 40 regulates relative movements to the lower rails 30. A pair of projecting parts 43 are coaxially formed on side wall parts 41a, 41b of the lock plate 40. The projecting parts 43 are fitted to/axially supported by a shaft hole 21a of the upper rail 20 when the lock plate 40 is inserted into the upper rail 20. The projecting parts 43 are supported by fine protrusions 44 formed near the the projecting parts 43 with a smaller amount of projection than that of the projecting parts 43 in left/right side wall parts 21 of the upper rail 20.
