Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a seat slide device which has superior positioning precision and has excellent workability without necessitating a special work in assembly by constituting a latch plate so as to be engaged with the engagement plate of an upper bracket. CONSTITUTION:In the state where an engagement groove 37A on a latch plate 37 is engaged with an engagement plate 32C installed onto an upper bracket 32, the lock hole 24 of a lower rail 20 and the latch teeth 38 of the latch plate 37 fixed onto an operating lever 34 are engaged. Therefore, the restriction in the shift in the longitudinal direction of a seat can he carried out with high precision by the contact in the longitudinal direction of an engagement plate 32C installed onto the upper bracket 32 and the engagement groove 37A on the latch plate 37 and the contact in the longitudinal direction of the latch teeth 38 and the lock hole 24. Further, the engagement groove 37A is formed only by the press-molding of the latch plate 37 beforehand, and the need of fixing a contact member in the subsequent process as heretofore is obviated, and workability can he improved.
