To make it possible to adjust a seat to a suitable depth for small and large persons, and to incline a seat suitable for working with office automation apparatus by moving a seat in front and behind.
A seat 6 is provided with guiding grooves 8 and 9, and a slider which slides relatively in the guiding groove 8 and 9, that is, a first and a second slide axes 10 and 11, which support the seat 6 to slide back and forth freely against a seat receiving member (a seat metal part) 7. Meanwhile, either of the guiding grooves, for example, the guiding groove 9 is provided with a horizontal part 9a sufficient to slide in horizontal direction, and an inclination part 9b which gives, at the same time, vertical displacement. A hook means 42 is provided to connect the seat 6 and the seat receiving member 7 for fixing in the sliding direction. Thereby, the seat can be adjusted to a suitable depth or inclined according to kinds of work, physique of persons, or ways of sitting, which offers a chair comfortable to sit without being tired and convenient for working.
