PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve a formed material to be more easily used as a seat support, and to securely support a seated person by the formed material formed to be adaptable to the body shape of each seated person while preventing granular materials from moving downward by their own weight at the time of forming.
SOLUTION: A required quantity of a number of granular materials 1 whose surface is coated with uncured water-curable resin 2 is wrapped by water-permeable coating material 3 to make the formed material 4. The granular materials 1, though connected by the water-curable resin 2, can move from each other. The formed material 4 is stored in a cover body 6 with the self-supporting capability and shape-keeping capability. The cover body 6 appropriately restrains movement of the granular materials 1 connected by the water-curable resin 2 in the formed material 4, so that the formed material can be kept in the state to be easily formed with the average thickness maintained. When a person sits on a seat with the formed material covered with the cover body leaned on a backrest of the seat, etc., the granular materials in the formed material covered with the cover body move along the uneven shape of the body of the person, and the shape of the formed material is changed to a shape fitting the outer shape of the body. Then, the granular materials are cured with moisture, so that the seated person can be securely supported.
