To improve comfortableness by arranging an actuator by which a seat is vibrated on the basis of an inputted drive signal and a vibration generated in a seat because of a horizontal vibration is suppressed.
On a floor face 5, an actuator 8, a controller 9, and a sensor 10 are arranged, while a sensor 10' detecting a vibration is built in the actuator 8. These sensors 10, 10' sense longitudinal vibrating condition of the floor face 5 and of a base plate 6 so as to transmit this to the controller 9. In the controller 9, a command for driving the actuator 8 is computed according to a vibration damping control regulation so as to be fed to the actuator 8. According to this command, the actuator 8 moves the whole of a seat 1 including the base plate 6 and a conventional vibration damping device in the longitudinal direction, and consequently, vibration is applied so as to prevent transmission of the longitudinal vibration transmitted from the floor face 5 to the seat 1.
