Title:
POWER RESISTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3183933
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase heat capacity by forming a sintered body which is mainly composed of zinc oxide, and containing titanium, nickel and copper of specific quantity as subcomponent.
CONSTITUTION: The title power resistor comprises an annular sintered body 1 composed of a main component of zinc oxide and a subcomponent containing titanium of 0.5 to 20mol% in terms of titanium oxide, nickel of 0.5 to 30mol% in terms of nickel oxide, and copper of 0.001 to 1mol% in terms of copper oxide (Cu2O), and an insulating layer 3 covering the outer circumferential surface and the hollow part of the sintered body 1 to prevent creepint discharge on the side face. As a result, a power resistor, having large heat capacity per unit volume, suitable resistance value, positive resistance temperature coefficient, a small absolute value and easily controllable resistivity, can be obtained.
