To provide a seawater desalination system and a seawater desalination method capable of effectively using energy and reducing energy cost.
The first seawater desalination system is a seawater desalination system S for desalinating seawater and sewage and includes a heat exchanger 6 exchanging heat between the sewage or its treatment water and the seawater. The second seawater desalination system is a seawater desalination system S for desalinating seawater and sewage and includes: an MBR 1 treating sewage in the membrane separation active sludge process; a first RO membrane 2 removing salt contents from permeated water s5a which has permeated through the MBR 1 by including the salt contents in first concentrated water s6 to generate industrial water s1; an UF membrane 3 through which seawater permeates to remove particles in the seawater; a second RO membrane 5 to which treatment water s5b permeated through the UF membrane 3 is sent to cause salt contents of the treatment water s5b to be included in second concentrated water s7 and removed and which generates potable water s2; and a heat exchanger 6 exchanging heat between the sewage or its treatment water s5a s6, s1 and the seawater.
