Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate forming of secondary air supply passages, to downsize as well as improving appearance, and to enhance durability against heat or vibrations. SOLUTION: Two of front and rear cylinder banks 19F, 19R (of cylinder heads 23) constitute a V-type engine. Passage entrances 35a of the secondary air supply passages 35 are disposed to positions adjacent to outer opening portions 27a of intake ports 27 of the cylinder banks 19F, 19R. The secondary air supply passages 35 are formed so that they connect the passage entrance 35a to exhaust ports 30 through the cylinder heads 23 in an approximately longitudinal direction of a vehicle. The passage entrances 35a are connected to a secondary air selector valve 34 by flexible outer passage members (for example, secondary air supply hoses 41, 42).
