Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve assembling operation and outer appearance in V-type engine applied in motor cycle, etc. by a method wherein one-way valve for supplying secondary air is arranged in front of a front cylinder block and rearward of a rear cylinder block, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A water-cooled V-type engine 11 in which a crank shaft of motor cycle is horizontally arranged includes a front cylinder 13 arranged at the front part of a crank case 12 to be slightly inclined forwardly and a rear cylinder 14 arranged to be slightly inclined rearwardly. In this case, a reed valve 23 for supplying secondary air is arranged just below an exhaust port (not shown) at the front part of cylinder block 131 of the front cylinder 13 and at the same time a similar reed valve 25 is arranged just below the exhaust port at the rear surface of the cylinder block 141 of the rear cylinder 14. Secondary air to be supplied from hoses 24, 26 through these reed valves 23, 25 is introduced into each of the exhaust ports through supplying passages (not shown) formed in cylinder blocks 131, 141.
