Abstract:

To provide a secondary battery exhibiting excellent cycle life characteristics.SOLUTION: A secondary battery is provided. The secondary battery includes: a positive electrode including a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode; a separator arranged between the positive and negative electrodes; and a first aqueous electrolyte held by at least the positive electrode. The pH of the first aqueous electrolyte is larger than 7. The positive electrode active material contains a lithium-containing compound exhibiting an average actuation potential of less than 4.0 V based on metallic lithium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
