Abstract:
To provide a secondary battery inspection device which is capable of cooling down a secondary battery on the spot in which fire breaks out during inspection, of submerging it in water, and reliably extinguishing the fire without moving the secondary battery from an inspection rack, and which is excellent in reliability of operation and efficiency of fire extinguishing operation without influencing other equipment or the secondary battery, and a fire extinguishing method of the secondary battery inspection device.SOLUTION: Each of inspection racks 11 includes a battery storage container 16 storing a secondary battery 12 to be inspected. The battery storage container 16 has: an upper surface opening 17; a battery insertion opening 18 which faces a conveyance path where the secondary battery 12 is conveyed and the secondary battery 12 is put in and out; and a front door 19 opening/closing the battery insertion opening 18. The battery storage container 16 on the inspection rack 11 where fire breaks out during inspection has the battery insertion opening 18 tightly sealed with the front door 19, and functions as a submersion tank with water poured through the upper surface opening 17.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
