The secondary battery 10 includes: a container 11 storing an electrolyte on the inside; a laminate 12 including a sheet-like positive electrode plate 18 and a sheet-like negative electrode plate 20, which are alternately laminated, and a separator 20 interposed between the positive electrode plate 18 and the negative electrode plate 20, and housed in the container 11; and a fire extinguisher-housing structure 22 arranged between the positive electrode plate 18 or the negative electrode plate 20 of the laminate 12 and the container, housing a fire extinguisher on the inside, and being broken at the prescribed temperature.
