Abstract:
To provide a secondary battery enhanced in safety.
The secondary battery includes an electrode assembly containing a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode; a case for housing the electrode assembly; and a cap assembly containing a cap plate covering an opening of the case, a first tap electrically connected to the first electrode, a deformable plate supported so as to be deformed by the cap plate, and an intermediate member fit to the deformable plate and connected to the case, and when the deformable plate is deformed, the intermediate member forms an electrical path between the first electrode and the second electrode.
