Abstract:
To provide a secondary battery which is less likely to cause short circuit of an electrode plate.
The secondary battery 1 comprises a battery container 2, a laminate 4 housed in the battery container 2 and including a plurality of electrode plates, and a frame 3 arranged between the laminate 4 and the battery container 2 to surround the laminate annularly when a plurality of insulating plates engage with each other. An engaging part and an engaged part are formed, respectively, on the end faces of two insulating plates engaging with each other. When the engaging part formed on the end face of one insulating plate engages with the engaged part of the other insulating plate, the laminate 4 is surrounded annularly.
