Abstract:

To provide a lithium secondary battery with excellent characteristics such as energy density and electromotive force, which is also excellent in cycle life and shelf life stability.

This secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode and an electrolyte solution containing an aprotic solvent wherein at least an electrolyte is dissolved. The positive electrode contains a lithium-nickel compound oxide having a layer structure as a positive electrode active material, and the electrolyte solution contains a compound represented by formula (1). In formula (1), R1and R2are each independently an atom or a group selected from a hydrogen atom, a 1-5C substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a 1-5C substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group, a 1-5C substituted or unsubstituted fluoroalkyl group, a 1-5C polyfluoroalkyl group and a halogen atom; and R2and R3are each independently an atom or a group selected from a 1-5C substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a 1-5C substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group, a substituted or unsubstituted phenoxy group, a 1-5C substituted or unsubstituted fluoroalkyl group, a 1-5C polyfluoroalkyl group and a 1-5C substituted or unsubstituted fluoroalkoxy group.
