PURPOSE: To strengthen bonding of current collector to increase current collecting efficiency and surely separate electrolyte by stacking electrodes each of which is made by bonding polyacetylene on the surface of sheet-like conductor.
CONSTITUTION: Each of electrodes at both ends of stacked cell is prepared by bonding polyacetylene 3 on the surface of a sheet-like conductor 2. Electrode in the middle is formed by bonding polyacetylene on one side or both sides of sheet-like conductor 2. For example, current collector is formed by welding expanded metal 2 to SUS304 plate 2, and polyacetylene powder which serves as electrode active material 13 is pressed at a pressure of 0.8t/cm2 against the current collector. Polypropylene nonwoven fabric is used as a separator 11, and nonaqueous organic electrolyte prepared by dissolving (C2H5)4NBF4 in acetonitrile is used to assemble polyacetylene battery.
