PURPOSE: To construct a manifestation vector capable of secreting and producing a useful heteropeptide from a yeast cell, by utilizing the DNA sequence of α-factor (MFα) which is a peptide secreted from the yeast to the medium.
CONSTITUTION: At least a part of the DNA sequence coding the mature MFα- peptide in the α-factor operon of a yeast is exchanged with the cDNA sequence of a protein or peptide such as interleukin 2 (IL2) to construct the secretion manifestation vector having the yeast as a host. The gene prepared by the fusion of the signal peptide in the MFα operon, the cDNA of the sugar-additionable polypeptide and the cDNA of useful protein or peptide in the above vector, is so constructed as to be manifested with the promoter of the yeast.
