Abstract:
To provide a secure boot at shutdown.SOLUTION: A secure boot method comprises: shutting down an application being processed by a controller; setting, by the application at the shutdown, a boot mode to a first setting to indicate to a bootloader that, upon a next boot, the bootloader should authenticate the application; rebooting the bootloader prior to the controller entering a low power state; authenticating the application; setting an authentication code; storing the authentication code in persistent memory; setting, at the bootloader, the boot mode to a second setting to indicate to the bootloader that, upon the next boot, the bootloader should boot the application; and entering the low power state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
