To inexpensively eliminate risk of skin injury by a method having also an excellent design aspect, since an opening edge of a periphery of an opening of an envelope generally used today has a cut edge, and there causes the risk of injury of the skin caused by the contact of the cut edge with the skin of a finger when putting in/taking out a content therein/therefrom.
An opening edge of a periphery of an opening with a lid of an envelope not being attached thereto is formed as a bent part. The bent part can use both means, i.e., a bent part in which a folding margin formed on the opening edge is folded, and a bent part in which a covering material formed as a component separate from a bag body of the envelope is attached so as to cover the cut edge of the opening, and folded. A strength of the opening edge can be increased by any of the means. A sufficient room is obtained for devising a shape of the folding margin, and a material and a design of the covering material, and the additional aesthetic effect can be easily obtained. The bent part can reduce the risk of the finger injury more as it is longer, but a size of the bent part can be determined in consideration of the envelope weight or the like.
