PURPOSE: To secure interlocking members to the hem part of a stringer tape in an accurate position, by a method wherein, after both the sides of the head part of the interlocking member are made contact by attitude control levers shuttled, its position is corrected and held in a normal state, and then the hem part of the tape is put between its fork-shaped leg parts.

CONSTITUTION: After a push rod 8 is lowered, it pushes an interlocking member 1 stayed by being held between stoppers 9 for a while, and the interlocking member 1 is dropped by its dead weight and mounted on a hem part 5 of a stringer tape. At this time, leg parts 3 of the interlocking member 1 are set in place since their lower end parts are supported on step parts 15, but its position is incomplete and sometimes inclines. For that reason, after attitude control levers 11 are shifted forward and contacted to both the side parts of a head part 2 of the interlocking member 1, they correct it in a normal position and hold it. Furthermore, at this time, the push rod 8 is on standby above the head part 2 of the interlocking member without coming into contact therewith, which fact makes it easy to correct the position of the interlocking member by means of the attitude control levers 11. After that, the push rod 8 is lowered and the interlocking member is held so as not to lift when secured. After securing-punches 12 are still more shifted forward, the leg parts 3 of the interlocking member 1 are pressed from both the sides and secured to the hem part 5 of the tape.
