PURPOSE: To ensure a simple structure and correct matching by a printing machine wherein a paper passes through between an applicator cylinder and a pressure cylinder and a tape mounted on two reels of the applicator cylinder moves perpendicularly to the path of the paper and along a generatrix of the applicator cylinder.

CONSTITUTION: A sheet 13 is brought into contact with applicator cylinders 11 and 11' only along a contact line and the sheet 13 is guided by means of a pressure cylinder 20. On the applicator cylinders 11 and 11', an image 12 is arranged on a tape 13 by an optimized distance and is fed to the sheet 13 under a desired matching. The tape 13 is mounted on a rigid cassette 14 provided with reels 15 and 15' and the tape 13 is unwound between the reels 15 and 15' and driving of the tape 13 is performed by means of a servo motor 16 to match the image 12. The unwinding direction of the tape 13 between two reels 15 and 15' of the cassette 14 is in parallel to the axial direction of the applicator cylinders 11 and 11' and is therefore perpendicular to the sheet 13 passing through between the applicator cylinders 11 and 11' and the pressure cylinder 20.
