To provide a security ring that is not directly stuck to the surface of an article such as a rented article but is attachable to an inconspicuous portion at a part of the article for a prescribed long period, easily discriminates whether a removing action is intentional or fault, discriminates a fraud by both of a visual inspection and a mechanical verification, and is hard to imitate it.

This security ring is formed by fixing the ends of a long resin with an adhesive containing infrared absorptive dye. Phosphors are dispersed in the long resin and, the ends of the long resin are formed with recesses/projections so as to be fitted with each other.
