On each of a pair of engraving layers 65, 66, watermark engraving is carried out by positioning common identification images 69, 70 for individual identification in a manner mutually superimposed in the layer direction. The common identification images 69, 70 subjected to the watermark engraving from each of the front and rear faces 67, 68 can be confirmed through tactile and visual perceptions from these faces 67, 68. In addition, when the identification image is viewed from one side, the contour of the image is seen while being superimposed on the contour of the identification image on the other side, and creates a stereoscopic effect. Thus, the identification image to which the engraving is applied with high precision can be presented in a fashion visible with the unbounded interest.
