The elevator maintenance tool security system comprises an elevator control device 3; a monitoring center device 2 possessed by a maintenance/management company; and a portable terminal 4 carried by a maintenance person. The portable terminal among them has a position retrieval function 45, i.e., a function of PHS or the like and also has a means 46a for transmitting a position information; and a data breaking program for destroying stored data when a signal for activating the program is received from the outside. In the monitoring center device, a use area permission area 21 is set in every portable terminal. The monitoring center device has a judgment means 25 deciding whether or not the portable terminal is in the previously set use area permission area from the position information from the portable terminal; and an activation signal feeding means 26 for feeding the signal for activating the program to the portable terminal when the portable terminal is out of the area and exceeds a predetermined set setting time.
