This security system is provided with an image pickup means 4 for performing image pickup within a fixed area, an ID reading means 5 for reading ID information by communicating with a portable terminal within a fixed area, and a control center 2 for managing the registered ID information, and for detecting any unqualified person based on a picture to be imaged by the image pickup means and the ID information to be read by an ID reading means, and for issuing an alarm. The control center 2 is provided with a picture processing means 6 for counting the number of persons by processing the picture imaged by the image pickup means 4 and an ID processing means 7 for collating the ID information read by the ID reading means with the registered ID information managed by the ID information managing means, and for recognizing it, and for counting the number of persons. Then, the unqualified person is detected according to whether or not the counted values are matched.
