Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sediments removal method using a caisson for a storage dam free from undesired influences on stored water, applicable to any type of storage dam for removing large sediments such as drifted woods and/or mass of rocks.SOLUTION: The sediment removal method of storage dam includes: a caisson setting down step in which a caisson 1 is allowed to sink down to sediments; a lifting equipment setting step in which a piece of lifting equipment is installed; and a dredging port forming step in which a dredging port for sucking sediments is formed in the caisson 1. After in-taking sediment T in the caisson 1 through a dredging port (dredge pipe 5), large sediments T1 such as drifted woods and/or rocks are lifted up and sorted from the in-take sediments T using the lifting equipment and remaining sediments are discharged out of the caisson 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
