To provide an inexpensive drying method and a device having high drying efficiency for further reducing damage (such as the loss of germinating vitality of a seed, collapse and separation of a covering layer) to the seed by a shortage of drying.
In a method for drying the seed, this drying method is characterized by ventilating air from the vertical direction to a drum rotary shaft of a dryer by using the rotary dryer. The rotary dryer is characterized by drying the seed by ventilating the air from the vertical direction to the drum rotary shaft, and can thereby quickly dry the seed in a high moisture content state such as a seed after priming processing, and can inexpensively dry the seed with high drying efficiency by further reducing the damage (such as the loss of germinating vitality of the seed, collapse and separation of the covering layer) to the seed by a shortage of the drying.
