To provide technology enabling a segment to be carried to an assembly site at the top end of a tunnel across a trailing truck even when an inner diameter of an excavation pile is small.
The segment carrying system 1 carries the segment 301 to a predetermined position of the excavation pile 300 for forming a shield tunnel 220 by covering an inner wall surface of the excavation pile 300 excavated by a shield machine 2 with the segment 301. The segment carrying system 1 is applied to an excavation pile with a small inner diameter of the pile so as not to make difference in dimension between the inner diameter of the excavation pile 300 and length of the segment 301. A segment carrying truck 12 for carrying the segment 301 is installed on an upper surface 4a of the trailing truck 4 loaded with a variety of machines required to advance the shielding machine 2, and the segment 301 is forwarded at the upper surface 4a of the trailing truck 4 through the segment carrying truck 12, and the segment 301 is carried between the shield machine 2 and the trailing truck 4 in the excavation pile 300.
