To provide a seismic isolation device capable of controlling a horizontal deformation amount according to the magnitude of earthquake energy, and reliably suppressing the sway of an upper structure by producing a superior damping effect of the earthquake energy.
The seismic isolation device A, which is inserted between an upper structure G1 and a lower structure G2 and suppresses the sway of the upper structure G1 by absorbing and damping the earthquake energy which acts during of an earthquake, is formed by integrating fiber bodies 4 made of fibers with a stacking part 3 with elastic bodies 1 and auxiliary rigid bodies 2 stacked alternately. The fiber bodies 4 are integrated with the stacking part 3 while setting the fiber direction M of the fibers to the stacking direction T1 of the stacking part 3. The fiber bodies 4 are formed by combining a plurality of kinds of fibers having different fracture elongation.
