Abstract:
To provide a seismic isolator in which strokes of a plurality of dampers can be secured even when the dampers are coupled together and furthermore the dampers can be surely supported and which is adaptable to movement in two directions within a horizontal plane.SOLUTION: This seismic isolator comprises: a first damper connected at one end to a seismic object side; a second damper connected at one end to an installation surface side; a supporting unit that is connected to the other ends of the first and second dampers and that supports the first and second dampers on the installation surface and moves on the installation surface in accordance with the strokes of the first and second dampers in such a way that the strokes of the dampers become equal to each other; and a connection unit that connects the seismic object to one end of the first damper and slides the first damper with respect to the seismic object in a direction roughly orthogonal to the stroke direction of the first damper within a plane parallel to the installation surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
