Abstract:
To provide a seismic isolator which exhibits an effect for the horizontal quake of an earthquake, has a simple device structure, accordingly, exhibits highly reliability of actuation and moreover, can be fabricated at a low cost.
The seismic isolator includes: a flat steel plate 4; a main steel ball which is put on the flat plane of the steel plate in a rotatable state; and a steel ball group retained by a position-retaining retainer 2 which retains the main steel ball on the same flat plane respectively in the constant positional relation, and retains all steel balls in the rotatable state, wherein the steel ball group covers over the upper part of the main steel ball in the rotatable state.
