To provide a seismic isolator that is installed between a building structure and a foundation carrying the building structure and has an extended degree of freedom in installation of a damper metal while being free from aging such as metal fatigue.
In providing this seismic isolator, an elastic body supporting a building structure and relieving a seismic force and a damper metal 11 having a function for absorbing the seismic force are arranged together between the building structure and a foundation carrying the building structure. The damper metal 11 is composed of a metal 1a having magnets 2a to be attached to the underside of the building structure and a metal 1b having magnets 2b to be attached to the foundation, and the both of the metals are fitted together so that they can become repulsive by magnetic force.
