Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economically efficient aseismatic structure that may be installed readily, avoiding reinforcement of a bridge pier and a bridge abutment to an extent possible, along with a method for improving aseismatic performance.SOLUTION: An aseismatic structure 1 includes: a support structure (a bridge abutment 3) that receives earth pressure while supporting a structure above, and an elastic bearing (a laminated rubber bearing 7) or an elastic device provided between the structure above and the support structure, after being elastically deformed in the soil pressure direction received by the support structure. The support structure may be a bridge abutment supporting a bridge girder of a bridge, a dam, or a movable weir, while the elastic bearing may be a laminated rubber bearing without damping capability or an aseismic isolation bearing with damping capability. A component having a cylinder, a rod disposed inside the cylinder and an elastic body interposed between the cylinder and the rod, either with or without damping capability, may be used as the elastic device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
