Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simplify the movement of a front seat in the transverse direction, and to provide a space around a steering column by storing a select lever of an automatic transmission.
CONSTITUTION: A detent member 4 provided with a select lever 3 of an automatic transmission is slidably fitted to a select base fitted inside a body of an automobile, and a pull-in energizing means to store the detent member 4 in the select base is provided. A spring 8 to constantly energize a detent pin 7 provided on the select lever 3 at each shift position of a detent hole 6 formed in the detent member 4 is fitted to the select lever 3. A lock lever 16 to prevent the select lever 3 from being pulled into the select base is provided, and the lock release of the lock lever 16 is achieved by energizing the detent pin 7.
