Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an accuracy in positioning a mobile station unit.SOLUTION: Different types of position fixes may be used to determine the location of a mobile station unit in a wireless communication system. The position fixes include terrestrial-based, namely, network-based techniques, and non-network-based techniques, such as satellite-based techniques. When positioning the mobile station unit, an apparatus and method according to different position fixes may be selected based on the performance of any different fix.
