PURPOSE: To automatically send a selection signal is response to a telephone line by outputting a signal for the first one character in selection signal information to an exchange via the telephone line and confirming the reply of the exchange to the output and automatically switching the selection signal.

CONSTITUTION: The 1st character signal at the head of a selection signal for dialing is given to an exchange via a telephone line 40. Then the stop of an output of a call progress tone outputted from the exchange is confirmed by a call progress tone detection circuit 10 to allow a control circuit 18 to decide the kind of a selection signal and the 1st or 2nd selection signal transmission means 12 (14) is controlled to be connected to the telephone line 40 depending on the kind of the selection signal. Thus, the selection signal in response to the kind of the telephone line is sent to the line automatically without notifying the kind of the selection signal of the telephone line by the operator.
