To provide a method for selectively hydrogenating a poly-unsaturated molecule, capable of obtaining the maximum selectivity to a reaction product corresponding to intermediate stages of hydrogenation, while keeping the most suitable conversion ratio of the poly-unsaturated molecule.
This method for selectively hydrogenating the poly-unsaturated molecule contained in a supplied raw material of a hydrocarbon comprises using a catalytic reactor having a hydrogen-selective membrane, wherein the method includes (a) a process for introducing the supplied raw material mixed with hydrogen into at least one reaction zone of the reactor, (b) another process for bringing an upstream surface of the membrane which is inorganic and porous into contact with at least a part of the hydrogen required for conducting the hydrogenation reaction, and (c) the other process for conducting catalytic reaction of the supplied raw material introduced in the process (a) with at least a part of the hydrogen selectively permeating through the membrane in the reaction zone.
